Supposedly a favourite of the Navy SEALS, the CamelBak HAWG features 500D Cordura Nylon with laser cut MOLLE, 19" x 10.5" dimension, 23L capacity and weighs only 1kg.
What we love about this pack are little benefits that they don't really tell you in descriptions. Small velcro keepers that reduce dangling straps, rows of webbing sewn onto the bottom of the pack that allows for extra kit (bivvy attachments etc), a removable waist belt and 4 D rings on the shoulder straps which allow for extra gear to be hung. I didn't know I could get this excited about zippers however, the zippers are super responsive and noise free.
The back of the pack features raised foam panels (CamelBak refer to this as their Air Director Back Panel) which aid in load distribution and breathability. Comfortable shoulder straps that aren't too bulky and sit/feel great when loaded. The interior of the hydration section is also padded giving your back and pack protection from cold liquid whilst also keeping the liquid colder for longer.
The CamelBak Mil Tac HAWG features two main compartments. The front, features dual zips and opens three quarters of the way down. The inside is lined with nylon and gives you two notebook sized pockets along with pen pockets and one pocket sized the width of the pack. The inner section (between the front and the hydration pocket, has the advantage of internal padding (against hydration pocket) ensuring your goods are kept away from any condensation from the hydration bladder. A lot roomier also.
